TEN TINY BREATHS:

Just breathe, Kacey. Ten tiny breaths. Seize them. Feel them. Love them.

Four years ago Kacey Cleary’s life imploded when her car was hit by a drunk driver, killing her parents, boyfriend and best friend. Still haunted by memories of being trapped inside, holding her boyfriend’s lifeless hand and listening to her mother take her last breath, Kacey wants to leave her past behind. Armed with two bus tickets, twenty year old Kacey and her fifteen year old sister Livie escape Grand Rapids, Michigan to start over in Miami. Struggling to make ends meet, Kacey needs to figure out how to get by. But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle anything—anything but her mysterious neighbor in apartment 1D.
Trent Emerson has smoldering blue eyes, deep dimples, and perfectly skates that irresistible line between nice guy and bad boy. Hardened by her tragic past, Kacey is determined to keep everyone at a distance, but their mutual attraction is undeniable and Trent is determined to find a way into Kacey’s guarded heart—even if it means that an explosive secret could shatter both their worlds.

ONE TINY LIE:

Livie has always been the stable one of the two Cleary sisters, handling her parents' tragic death and Kacey's self-destructive phase with strength and maturity. But underneath that exterior is a little girl hanging onto the last words her father ever spoke to her. “Make me proud,” he had said. She promised she would...and she’s done her best over the past seven years with every choice, with every word, with every action.

Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan, and she’s dead set on delivering on it: Rock her classes, set herself up for medical school, and meet a good, respectable guy that she’s going to someday marry. What isn’t part of her plan are Jell-O shots, a lovable, party animal roommate she can’t say ‘no’ to, and Ashton, the gorgeous captain of the men’s rowing team. Definitely him. He’s an arrogant ass who makes Livie’s usually non-existent temper flare and everything she doesn’t want in a guy. Worse, he’s best friends and roommates with Connor, who happens to fit Livie’s criteria perfectly. So why does she keep thinking about Ashton?

As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades, career aspirations she no longer thinks she can handle, and feelings for Ashton that she shouldn’t have, she’s forced to let go of her last promise to her father and, with it, the only identity that she knows.

FOUR SECONDS TO LOSE:

I believe you don’t have years, or months, or weeks to impact a person’s life. You have seconds. Seconds to win them over, and seconds to lose them.
Owning a strip club isn’t the fantasy most guys expect it to be. With long hours, a staff with enough issues to keep a psych ward in business, and the police regularly on his case, twenty-nine-year-old Cain is starting to second-guess his unspoken mission to save the women he employs. And then blond, brown-eyed Charlie Rourke walks through his door, and things get really complicated. Cain abides by a strict “no sleeping with his staff” rule. But being around Charlie challenges Cain’s self-control . . . and it’s been a long time since any woman has done that.

Twenty-two-year-old Charlie Rourke needs a lot of money, really fast, in order to vanish before it’s too late. Taking her clothes off for men makes her stomach curl, but Charlie tells herself that at least she’s putting her acting and dancing skills to good use. And though her fellow dancers seem eager to nab their sexy, sophisticated, and genuinely caring boss, she’s not interested. After all, Charlie Rourke doesn’t really exist—and the girl pretending to be her can’t get distracted by romance.

Unfortunately, Charlie soon discovers that developing feelings for Cain is inevitable, and that those feelings may not be unrequited—but losing him when he finds out what she’s involved with will be more painful than any other sentence awaiting her.

FIVE WAYS TO FALL:

Sometimes you can’t change—and sometimes you just don’t want to. Discover Ben’s side of the story in this fourth novel by the beloved, top-selling indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths, One Tiny Lie, and Four Seconds to Lose.

Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she’s made plenty of them in her twenty-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it’s time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.

Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris’s plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny’s Palace, he’s ready to lead a more mature life—until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn’t stopped thinking about.

If Ben truly were a smart guy, he’d stay clear of Reese. She’s the boss’s stepdaughter and it’s been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she’s trouble. The only problem is, he likes trouble, especially when it’s so good-looking…

IN HER WAKE: A Ten Tiny Breaths Novella:

Author’s Note: Although it is a prequel, In Her Wake is best read after completing Ten Tiny Breaths. Before you knew him as Trent in Ten Tiny Breaths, he was Cole Reynolds—and he had it all. Until one night when he makes a fatal, wrong decision…and loses everything.

When a drunken night out at a Michigan State college party results in the death of six people, Cole must come to terms with his part in the tragedy. Normally, he’d be able to lean on his best friends—the ones who have been in his life since he could barely walk. Only, they’re gone. Worse, there’s the shattered body of a sixteen-year-old girl lying somewhere in a hospital bed, her entire life ripped from her because of a case of beer and a set of keys.

Everyone assures him that they know it wasn’t intentional, and yet he can’t ignore the weight of their gazes, the whispers behind his back. Nor can he shake the all-consuming guilt he feels every time he thinks of that girl who won’t so much as allow him near her hospital room to apologize. As the months go by and the shame and loneliness festers, Cole begins to lose his grip on what once was important—college, his girlfriend, his future. His life. It’s not until Cole hits rock-bottom that he can begin to see another way out of his personal hell: forgiveness.

And there’s only one person who can give that to him…

PRECARIOUS - JOKERS WRATH MC by Bella Jewel Release Party

Teaser

Precarious: Jokers' Wrath MC - TEASERS
Teaser #1

He growls once more and then ends the call, spinning to me. “Get in that room, now.”
“Not sure that’s a good idea,” I say, taking a step back.
He lunges for me, catching hold of my wrist and hurling me so hard against his body he loses his towel. I squeal, but he keeps his arm pinned around me, pressing my thighs against his very naked body. His cock is resting on my belly, even though I can’t feel the skin, I can feel it’s presence there.
“Your….your….”
“My fuckin’ cock is on your stomach, if you keep misbehaving I’ll find a better place for it.”

Teaser #2

“So that’s it, you’re going to love me and leave me?”
He grins at me, big and beautiful. “Either that or I can pull my cock out and you can suck this ache right out of it.”
I flush and shove to my feet, taking the blanket with me. He laughs as I gather my clothes. “Didn’t think so.”

Teaser #3

“I can make you warm, baby, just say the word and I’ll make it all fuckin’ better.”
Oh I just bet he will.
“I,” I croak. That’s it, it’s the best I can do. That would be because his fingers are trailing down my belly towards my extremely aroused sex. His mouth is on my neck, his c*ck pressed against my back and he’s about to finger fuck me. Even I’m not that strong…I mean come on…who could say no to that?

Teaser #4

He narrows his eyes. “Aren’t you goin’ to tell me that you can’t stand me and there’s no way in hell I’m gettin’ my cock near you?”
I snort. “You read too many books. No, I’m not going to tell you that. Firstly, I don’t hate you, Beau. I don’t know what your life is about, but there’s a big story behind your stormy eyes and I’m sure you have a reason for being the way you are.”
His eyes darken, but he says nothing.
“And secondly, I haven’t been fucked for over twelve months. I might be pissed at you for hurting me and dragging me into the wilderness, but I won’t deny that the idea of fucking you turns me on.”
He growls.
Like a feral, hungry beast.

Alex (A Cold Fury Hockey #1) by Sawyer Bennett

Expected Publication Date: October 14, 2014

Hockey star Alexander Crossman has a reputation as a cold-hearted player on and off the rink. Pushed into the sport by an alcoholic father, Alex isn’t afraid to give fans the proverbial middle finger, relishing his role as the MVP they love to hate. Management, however, isn’t so amused. Now Alex has a choice: fix his public image through community service or ride the bench. But Alex refuses to be molded into the Carolina Cold Fury poster boy . . . not even by a tempting redhead with killer curves.

As a social worker, Sutton Price is accustomed to difficult people—like Alex, who’s been assigned to help her create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth as part of the team’s effort to clean up his image. What she doesn’t expect is the arrogant smirk from his perfect lips to stir her most heated fantasies. But Sutton isn’t one to cross professional boundaries—and besides, Alex doesn’t do relationships . . . or does he? The more she sees behind Alex’s bad-boy façade, the more Sutton craves the man she uncovers.

Tere's Review:

**ARC provided via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.**

Alex is my second novel written by Sawyer Bennett. I have only read Legal Affairs which is a contemporary while Alex I believe is still borderline New Adult genre. I really liked Legal Affairs and I like NA so I am excited to read this. Probably it is my high expectations that somehow Alex fall just a little flat for my taste. Don't get me wrong, Alex is hot and all the people who love Sawyer Bennett's trademark of Hero Assholeness is there. :D It's probably just my own personal taste.

Alex Crossman is a star player of a hockey team (a game I knew nothing about so pls. pardon me, maybe this is also one of the reason this one is kind of lukewarm for me). He's really got his game going and the MVP (Most Valuable Player / Prick of his team. He's utterly gorgeous but he needed to clean up his act otherwise it was bench for him for the whole season. On Alex's defense, he's got some issues why he was acting this way and it's because of a difficult childhood and abusive father while growing up.

Alex's coach and team owner decided to clean up his act by arranging for Alex to be a spokesperson for a project about fighting Drug Addiction and this is how he meet the lovely Sutton.

Sutton is a knock out redhead and she was a counselor that helped teenagers fight drug addiction. She doesn't know anything about Alex or Hockey at all, so it is refreshing for Alex to meet somebody who doesn't swoon and not on his beck and call because of his fame and fortune. As they continue to work together, Alex and Sutton can't deny the strong attraction they felt for each other.

Sutton make everything better for Alex. slowly making him fall in love not only with life but with the game that Alex has learned to hate, but Alex felt he got a lot on his plate and got more than he could chew, and so he had to let Sutton go. Kind of lame for me but it is kind of romantic and yes, cheesy, when Alex made all his effort to win Sutton back.

A solid 3.5 stars for me. I recommend this novel to all hockey fanatics and those who love a good New Adult genre.

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

Tere's Review:

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

--

I am stomped after finishing this book. No words just can describe how I felt. I don't even know how to start my review. I have read a lot of romance books in my lifetime so for me the story itself is not original BUT damn. Only Colleen can pull this off like this. How can she write things like this? Like pulling my heart from my ribcage, throw in some salt and crushed it to tiny bits and pieces.

The story was written in present by Tate and 6 years past by Miles so we would understand Miles better and why he acted the way he did in the present, My heart ached for Miles, but my heart ached more for Tate. She loved Miles so much that she's willing to take risk on loving somebody less than what she deserved.

--
“Don’t ask about my past,” he says firmly. “And never expect a future.”
--

One thing for sure, this is the steamiest book to date by Colleen. Brace yourself for the sexual tension and chemistry between Miles and Tate.

--

"The couch or your bed?" he whispers.
"Both," I reply.
He obliges.

--
--
"You," he says without hesitation. "In my shower. From behind".
--

Damn. Just damn.

Tate took chance on the only thing that Miles could offer - No Strings Attached Sex. You can't even say it as Friends with Benefits- because they are not even friends to start with. But Tate started caring more than she should, and this line just broke my heart:

--
"I asked you to do two things for me. Don't ask about my past, and never expect a future. You are doing both".
--
My heart was crushed for Tate. :(

Oh I could hate Miles a lot. but I couldn't. I just couldn't because I knew what he'd been through. That Ugly Love he had scarred him for life.

--
"She's the first thing to breathe life back into you since the night you drowned in that fucking lake."
--
I felt Miles' struggle with himself. He wanted to give Tate what she deserved but he couldn't. It's frustrating as f*ck.

--
She says she's here to say good-bye, but that's not why she's here, and she knows it. She's here because she fell in love with me, even though I told her not to. She's here because she still has hope that I can love her back.
--

Sigh.

These events just got all my hopes shattered for a HEA. BUT. As painful as this Ugly Love could be, only one thing could heal, and it is LOVE itself, and FORGIVENESS.

--
"I miss you, Tate," he says immediately. "So much. And it's not the first time. I've missed you every single day we weren't together since the moment I met you."
--

I think my heart skipped a beat.

Even though there's a lot of "ugliness" that happened into this book, the story is freaking BEAUTIFUL.

This story made me realize that Life throws some ugly curve balls to appreciate its true beauty.

5 Absolutely Brilliant Stars!

***********

JELAI'S REVIEW: *5 happy and healing stars*

Colleenized.

Possessed.

Goner.

I cried

Then I cried some more.

I ached.

Then I ached some more.

This booked totally drained me like I was a liquid got overheated it evaporates and suddenly turns to gas goes up up up in the air, and oh, did I like it.

The entire time I was reading I didn't dare move. I didn't stand. I was bed ridden reading. I even resisted the urge to pee because it means putting it down and I don't want it to stop. So to hell with my bladder I ain't backing down. (LOL)

It rarely happens that a writer can make you smile, giggle, squeal so hard, laugh so hard and cry so damn hard in one book. Hoover certainly had me in this novel. She soaked me with so many emotions then drained me afterwards. She gutted me.

I felt everything that needs to be felt in this novel. It's hard not to. So I just surrendered.
This novel has strong characters. I like the way they blend in this story. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
It's too much and yet I want some more. It's like, you know you had enough but the craving just won't fucking stop.

The writer definitely don't treat her readers as idiot ones for throwing off those smart ass humor.

Colleen Hoover never disappoints. Certainly worth the long wait.

Favorite Lines:

"Sometimes moving on is . . . the only way to move on.”

***

I’m not Tate when I’m near Miles. I’m liquid, and liquid doesn’t know how to be firm or stand up for itself. Liquid flows. That’s all I want to do with Miles.

Flow.

***
"God gives us the ugliness so we don’t take the
beautiful things in life for granted.”

***

If all my twenty-three years were laid on a graph, this moment would be the crest in my bell curve.

***

“Love isn’t always pretty, Tate. Sometimes you spend all your time hoping it’ll eventually be something different. Something better. Then, before you know it, you’re back to square one, and you lost your heart somewhere along the way.”

***

“If you don’t want a sarcastic answer,” Cap says to him, “don’t ask a stupid question.”

***

“Sometimes a man’s spirit just ain’t strong enough to withstand the ghosts from his past.” He opens his apartment door and walks inside. “Maybe that boy just lost his spirit somewhere along the way.”

***
You ever heard that expression, ‘When life gives you lemons . . .’?

“Make lemonade,” I say, finishing his quote.

Cap looks at me and shakes his head. “That’s not how it goes,” he says. “When life gives you lemons, make sure you know whose eyes you need to squeeze them in.”

***

“I know the thought of confronting your past terrifies you. It terrifies every man. But sometimes we don’t do it for ourselves. We do it for the people we love more than ourselves.”

***

Why would anyone want to put themselves in a position that could bring back the type of pain that makes a person envious of death?

***
The sadness that was my life became the moments, and my happiness with Brad became my life.”

***

The second she opened her eyes and looked at me, I knew. She was either going to be the death of me . . . or she was going to be the one who finally brought me back to life.

It’s the beautiful moments like these that make up for the ugly love.

Carnage # 2 The Story of Me by Lesley Jones

Like I told my friends, Prologue gave me goosebumps. It was so well written, so heartfelt, mesmerizing, love the aus glossary too.. I couldn't stop reading the moment I downloaded it in my kindle.

During the start of the story when George started to feel desire for the first time since, you know? ( ) I really didn't like Roman's existence there, it did give a good little twist between  Georgia and her cousin Jodie but I really didn't like it. Only redeeming factor was he sang Drops of Jupiter.

When I read the first book I may have been in a catatonic state for a little while, Lesley was just good at bringing out that emotion in you. I was a complete mess too. I loved the book nevertheless. Do you know the punctuation interrobang? If punctuation marks could speak, that was my reaction to the first book. I told myself, there better be a freaking second book with Cam in it, or I will be forced to give the second book one star rating. I'd say, the title was really carefully and appropriately chosen.

I love Gia's character, she's so feisty, especially when she's mad. She doesn't see reason. Her reaction about the "Sydney airport" incident looked like a genuine one to me.. I would have reacted the same way. It was just fun reading and imagining it as it unfolds.

And what can I say I just love the f*ck out of Cam. Despite his age, I think he's sexy. I think of David Gandy.

It almost broke my heart when I read the "box" incident. I was like "what the!?" (Interrobang, not again!!) and then ok, HEA :)

5 Drops of Jupiter Stars- JB

When your world, your life and all of your hopes and dreams for the future are ripped out from under you, how do you go on?
Death without dying is not only the most painful kind of death, it's also the most painful kind of life and I don't know if I'm strong enough to live it.
I spend my lonely days and nights trying to make sense of what my life has become. Do I have the strength to move forward into the light, or should I just let the darkness take me?
I'm Georgia Rae Layton McCarthy and this is the story of me, just me.
I'm no longer a part of an us, it's just me.
Alone.
By myself.
